Dončić was also assessed a technical foul late in the period, reaching the league limit and resulting in a suspension for the Lakers’ next game if it is not rescinded by Monday’s game in Detroit.
The fourth quarter turned into a back-and-forth battle, with both teams trading momentum down the stretch. Jaxson Hayes provided an early spark with a dunk and a defensive stop, both set up by LeBron James, helping the Los Angeles Lakers stay within striking distance.
With just over five minutes remaining, Austin Reaves knocked down a deep three-pointer to give the Lakers a brief lead, but the Orlando Magic continued to respond. The game tightened in the final minutes, with Orlando holding a narrow lead inside the final minute.
