BROOKLYN — The Lakers did exactly what was expected of them on Tuesday night as they defeated the Brooklyn Nets at Barclays Center 125-109. As they closed their 8 game road trip, it was crucial for this team to pick up one more win before coming home for a busy February schedule at home.
They were led by LeBron James’ 25 point performance, along with healthy contributions from Luka Dončić, and Jake LaRavia who scored 24 and 18 points respectively. Austin Reaves also made his long awaited return after missing 19 regular season games due to a left calf strain he sustained on Christmas day versus the Rockets. He would end the game with 15 points despite being put on a minutes restriction.
The Lakers ran away with this one and by halftime were up 69-40. At one point, their lead was up to 38. Austin [Reaves] was left in there to start the third quarter to get a few more reps in before his minutes restriction hit. It was a very encouraging sign to see. With these next games before the All-Star break coming up, he will have more than enough opportunities to get back in the groove of things. By the fourth quarter, the Lakers had gone up by 30 and it was time for the bench to takeover and close things out.
The Lakers will come home to host some tough matchups this month leading up to the All-Star break. The first one of the bunch will be on Thursday night as the Philadelphia 76ers come into town. The Lakers won the first matchup at Wells Fargo Center back on December 7,2025 by a score of 112-108. They look to sweep the season series at home on Thursday before the Warriors arrive for a matchup on Saturday. The 2025-2026 NBA trade deadline is Thursday, February 5, 2026 @ 3 p.m. EST/ 12 p.m. PSPT
