ANAHEIM — The Anaheim Ducks hosted the Seattle Kraken Tuesday night at the Honda Center on the third annual Come Out and Play Night honoring the legendary Orange County punk band, The Offspring.
As soon as you walk into Honda Center, the atmosphere is electric. There are exclusive merch booths where you can buy themed Ducks merch in collaboration with iconic punk band. The speakers throughout the arena are playing songs from the band’s historic discography and the pre-game show gets fans involved on the fun with trivia questions and interesting facts about Orange County’s very own The Offspring.
The Ducks would also take a moment before the game to honor Leo Carlsson, Lukáš Dostál, Radko Gudas and Mikael Granlund who were selected to play in the Olympic Winter Game Milano Milano Cortina 2026.
The lights suddenly drop and an incredible light and laser show fill the arena to introduce the home team. The arena is now packed and ready to rock!
It was finally time for puck drop and The Offspring was in the building to celebrate the night. They would also take the honors of hitting the Ducks’ Take Flight button to kick things off. Lukas Dostal, the Ducks’ goalie designed a special 1 of 1 custom goalie mask with Offspring guitarist Noodles that he would later wear during the game and auction off in collaboration with The Anaheim Ducks Foundation.
The Ducks were fresh off a 4-3 win on Sunday versus the Las Vegas Golden Knights and the Seattle Kraken looked to add to their 4-game win streak. With both teams chasing each other in the standings, it was an important Tuesday night at the Honda Center.
The first period felt like they were testing each other to see who would get the advantage in this one. With 4:01 left in the second period Cutter Gauthier breaks the seal and scores for his 25th goal of the season to give the Ducks a 1-0 lead.
As time was expiring in the second period, Jansen Harkins passes the puck to Jacob Trouba who scores to put the Ducks up by 2 after two.
As the third period got underway, the Ducks were not letting up on the Kraken. Alex Killorn brings the lead up to 3-0 for the Ducks within the first 24 seconds of the third period. It did not end there. Ross Johnston continues the scoring melee on the Kraken with 13:54 to go in the game, giving the Ducks a 4-0 lead.
This one looked over until the Kraken began to put on some pressure towards the end of the game. Jordan Eberle and Tye Kartye both scored late but it was not enough for a comeback as time expired for Seattle.
The Ducks took this one by a final score of 4-2 and jumped to third place in their division behind the Edmonton Oilers and Las Vegas Golden Knights. They will play the Edmonton Oilers on February 25th when the season picks up after the Olympic break.
